Screenshotlayer is part of the apilayer family and has been around for years, so it is a known quantity. Paid plans include CDN-backed storage of your snapshots, retina and WebP output, dedicated rendering workers, and on Professional and above, export straight to your own S3 bucket or FTP server. If you capture a steady 10,000+ screenshots every month, want them pushed to S3 automatically, or already use other apilayer APIs, it is a reasonable choice.
Your usage is occasional or bursty, you need commercial use without a $19.99 monthly floor, or you also need PDFs and Open Graph cards. With Shotmint you buy credits once (€5 for 2,000 renders, €19 for 10,000, €59 for 50,000) and they never expire, so a quiet month costs nothing. The free key (100 renders, no signup) can be used commercially, failed renders never cost a credit, and you get transparent backgrounds, ad and cookie-banner blocking, single-element selector captures, PDFs from raw HTML and signed public URLs you can put in an <img> tag. If you need S3/FTP export or a long track record, Screenshotlayer covers that and we do not yet.
GET /v1/screenshot: PNG, JPEG or WebP screenshots of any URL, with full-page capture, custom viewport, retina scale, a single-element selector, dark mode, transparent backgrounds (omit_background), ad and cookie-banner blocking (block_ads), and hide_selectors.POST /v1/pdf: PDFs from a URL or raw HTML, with format, landscape, margins, and backgrounds.GET /v1/og: 1200×630 Open Graph cards from a title and subtitle, with signed public URLs you can put straight in an og:image tag.X-Credits-Remaining header.Shotmint is a new, small service. It doesn't have SDKs, integrations, or enterprise plans yet. If you need those, Screenshotlayer may suit you better. If you want an API key in 10 seconds and to pay only for what you use, try it.
No signup, no card. If you need more, buy credits once: €5 for 2,000, €19 for 10,000, €59 for 50,000. They never expire.
