Screenshot API pricing compared

Pricing pages list plans, not what you will actually pay. This page works out the yearly cost of the cheapest plan that covers a steady volume, for nine screenshot APIs, from their public pricing pages (checked 17 and 18 October 2026). We run one of them (Shotmint), so we also list where the others win.

Rules: the cheapest plan whose monthly allowance covers the volume, billed monthly, ×12. Competitor prices are in their own currency (USD or EUR); Shotmint prices are in EUR. Several vendors give about 15 to 17% off for annual billing, which is not applied here. Prices change: follow the links to each comparison page and their pricing page before deciding.

Where Shotmint is not the cheapest

• Under 100 screenshots a month, forever: ApiFlash, ScreenshotOne, Screenshot Machine and Microlink give 100 free every month (Screenshotlayer too, for non-commercial use). Shotmint's 100 free renders are one-time, so a recurring free tier beats us for small, steady use.
• Above about 33,000 a month, every month: Microlink Pro is €39 for 46,000 requests (about €0.85 per 1,000), against €1.18 per 1,000 for Shotmint's largest pack. At very high, steady volume, ApiFlash Large ($180 for 100,000) and Microlink's bigger tiers also get cheaper per shot.
• Features we don't have: scheduled captures, S3/FTP export, video, proxies in other countries, no-code integrations and SDKs. ScreenshotOne, Urlbox, PagePixels, ScreenshotAPI.net and Screenshotlayer each cover some of these.

Why the gap is so large at low volume

Almost every screenshot API sells a monthly subscription, so the cost floor is the cheapest plan times twelve, even in months you don't render anything. Shotmint sells prepaid credits that never expire (€5 for 2,000, €19 for 10,000, €59 for 50,000), so a quiet month costs nothing and one credit covers a screenshot, a PDF or an Open Graph card. A failed render never costs a credit.
