Where PagePixels is the better choice

PagePixels includes every feature on every plan, including the free one: browser automations, scheduled screenshots, real locations in 150+ countries, change notifications, AI analysis, CDN embed URLs, SDKs, and integrations with Zapier, Make, Slack and an MCP server. If you capture a steady volume every month or want monitoring and no-code integrations, it's good value (10,000 screenshots for $24.99 a month), and it never charges overage.

When Shotmint fits better

You need renders occasionally rather than every month, or you need PDFs. PagePixels allowances reset each billing cycle, so screenshots you don't use that month are lost. Shotmint credits are bought once (€5 for 2,000, €19 for 10,000) and stay on your key until you use them. PagePixels' pricing page lists screenshots only, while Shotmint credits also cover URL-to-PDF and HTML-to-PDF. Note: Shotmint was briefly called "PagePixel" at launch. We renamed it to avoid confusion, and we have no connection with PagePixels.

What Shotmint does

• GET /v1/screenshot: PNG, JPEG or WebP screenshots of any URL, with full-page capture, custom viewport, retina scale, a single-element selector, dark mode, transparent backgrounds (omit_background), ad and cookie-banner blocking (block_ads), and hide_selectors.
• POST /v1/pdf: PDFs from a URL or raw HTML, with format, landscape, margins, and backgrounds.
• GET /v1/og: 1200×630 Open Graph cards from a title and subtitle, with signed public URLs you can put straight in an og:image tag.
• A failed render never costs a credit. Every response includes an X-Credits-Remaining header.
• A real headless Chromium renders every page, so modern CSS, web fonts, and JavaScript work.
