Where DocRaptor is the better choice

DocRaptor uses Prince, the reference engine for print CSS: running headers and footers, footnotes, cross-references with page numbers (tables of contents), page floats, and accessible tagged PDF/UA output, plus HTML-to-Excel and optional document hosting. Test documents are free and unlimited (watermarked), and there is phone and email support. If you produce long, print-quality documents such as books, reports or regulated filings where pagination and accessibility matter, DocRaptor is the better choice and worth the price.

When Shotmint fits better

You need everyday PDFs (invoices, receipts, exports, a web page saved as PDF) and your volume is low or irregular. 2,000 PDFs cost €5 once on Shotmint and the credits never expire, while DocRaptor's Professional plan is $29 a month for 325 ($348 a year). Shotmint renders with headless Chromium, so the PDF matches what Chrome shows, including flexbox, grid and JavaScript-built charts; POST /v1/pdf takes a URL or raw HTML with A3/A4/A5/Letter/Legal/Tabloid, landscape, margins, scale and backgrounds. The same credits also cover PNG/JPEG/WebP screenshots and 1200×630 Open Graph cards, every render costs 1 credit, failed renders are free, and a free key with 100 renders takes one request, with no signup. We have no header/footer templates, PDF/UA or PDF/A output, so for print-grade pagination DocRaptor is the right tool.

What Shotmint does

Shotmint is a new, small service. It doesn't have SDKs, integrations, or enterprise plans yet. If you need those, DocRaptor may suit you better. If you want an API key in 10 seconds and to pay only for what you use, try it.
