Convert iPhone and iPad HEIC (HEIF) photos to JPG in bulk, in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, on Windows, Mac or Android. Free, no watermark, and your photos never leave your device.
No images yet. You can also drop files on this box.
Changes apply to every image instantly. Size and aspect ratio stay the same.
iPhones save photos as HEIC by default. It is about half the size of JPG, but Windows (without an extra codec), many Android apps, older Macs and most upload forms cannot open it. JPG opens everywhere. At "High" quality the JPG looks the same as the HEIC, it is just bigger. Photos come out the right way up.
To stop your iPhone making HEIC files at all: Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible. To get JPGs when sharing, AirDrop and Mail usually convert for you, and Settings → Photos → Transfer to Mac or PC → Automatic converts when you copy to a computer.
Each file is decoded by your browser, drawn onto a canvas at its original size and re-encoded in the format you chose. Nothing is uploaded. Phone photos are rotated the right way up, and EXIF metadata (camera, GPS location) is removed. SVG files are rasterized at their own width and height. HEIC photos from iPhones are decoded on this page with libheif (compiled to WebAssembly, via the open-source heic-to library, LGPL), so they work in every browser, not just Safari. The decoder (about 0.8 MB) only downloads when you add a HEIC file.
Other conversions: Image: JPG, PNG and WebP, PNG to JPG, JPG to PNG, WebP to PNG, WebP to JPG, PNG to WebP, JPG to WebP, HEIC to PNG. Need it smaller too? Use the image compressor (target size in KB) or resize the image to exact pixels.
If your images are screenshots of web pages, skip the conversion step. The Shotmint API renders any URL or HTML in Chromium and returns a PNG, JPG or WebP directly:
curl "https://shotmint.creasework.com/v1/screenshot?url=https://example.com&format=webp&quality=80" -H "X-API-Key: YOUR_KEY" -o page.webp
Each screenshot is 1 credit. €5 buys 2,000 with no subscription, and credits never expire.

Are my images uploaded? No. The conversion runs in JavaScript on this page, so it works for private photos and ID scans, and even offline once the page has loaded.
Does converting lose quality? To PNG: no new loss. To JPG or WebP: a little, set by the quality option. "Maximum" is visually identical for almost any image. Converting never adds back detail that was already lost.
Is there a limit? No file count limit and no watermark. Very large images (over about 50 megapixels) depend on your device's memory.
What about animated GIF or WebP? Only the first frame is converted.
