Get the main colors of any website or image: HEX and RGB codes, how much of the picture each color covers, and ready-to-paste CSS variables or a Tailwind config. Free, no signup.
Websites: 5 free captures/day. Images are processed locally with no limit.
For a website, we load the page in a real Chromium browser and take a 1280×800 screenshot, so you get the colors people actually see: images, gradients and computed CSS. Reading the stylesheet would miss those. Your browser then groups similar pixels together, averages each group and lists the groups by how much of the picture they cover. Uploaded images never leave your device.
Monitoring brand consistency or building a "theme from URL" feature? Capture the page with the API and quantize it on your side. Here it is with Python and Pillow:
curl "https://shotmint.creasework.com/v1/screenshot?url=https://stripe.com&width=1280&height=800&format=png" -H "X-API-Key: YOUR_KEY" -o page.png
python3 -c "from PIL import Image; im = Image.open('page.png').convert('RGB').quantize(8); p = im.getpalette(); print(['#%02x%02x%02x' % tuple(p[i*3:i*3+3]) for c, i in sorted(im.getcolors(), reverse=True)])"
Every screenshot is 1 credit. €5 buys 2,000 with no subscription, and credits never expire. Get 100 free API renders
Is it free? Yes. Images are unlimited because they're processed in your browser. Websites are 5 captures a day per visitor, and a free API key gives 100 more.
Why doesn't it match the CSS exactly? Anti-aliased text, shadows, gradients and photos mix many shades, and those shades get averaged into their group. For an exact brand color, pick the most saturated swatch and check it against the site's CSS.
Do you store the screenshot? No. It's sent straight to your browser and not kept.
